Fahrenheit 451 is the temperature that paper burns.
In Mass Comm our class watched part of a movie called Fahrenheit 451. It was about a fireman named Guy, whose job was in a future tense and was to burn books. In this movie society thought that book reading was illegal and tv watching should be the only place any knowledge was gained. Well. Guy did not believe that books should be burned. He believed that behind every book lies a man who has written a story. He would sneak books into his home to read them. His wife was appaled that he was breaking the law. She ratted him out and left him. All of the firman went to Guy's home with Guy to burn the books he had. Guy ended up burning his own home, as well as another fireman. Guy ran into the woods to hide, because he was wanted. He lived with others in the woods who were against book burning too.
This movie that was a book first is unlike any story I have ever hear or seen before. Guy was a man who stood up for his beliefs no matter if society said he was wrong and to me he was a hero for this, not a criminal.
