John McCain's latest crazy, brilliant, desperate campaign tactic. - By John Dickerson - Slate Magazine

Here is the link of the article I read. It is very interesting to see MCCain try and back down John McCain's latest crazy, brilliant, desperate campaign tactic. - By John Dickerson - Slate Magazine

Until recently, I did not know much about this campaign. I knew a little about Obama, but nothing about MCCain. I felt that if I voted for Obama I would be being unfair because I did not know about MCCain. Now that MCCain has made Palin his VP, I have heard a lot about Palin and I think that who she is stands a lot for who MCcain is. I have not heard very many great things about Palin and I worry that if MCCain's health goes out (because he is older) and Palin is in charge of our country, we are in trouble. With all of the controversy about Palin, I could see why MCCain would be wanting to get out of Friday Sept. 26 debate. What are you thoughts about MCCain as well as Palin?

I am definately voting for Obama because i am well informed about his issues and plans. But more easily byt the media. But also, i have lived in AZ for a while, and McCain is from there. I can remember on the evening news about him having a heart attack or stroke. And his health history is not great. Palin i think is very much right-wing about everything and thinking about who she is. I really would not like it if she made it to the oval office. Because given her family and political brackground. I say NO!

I liked how the Slate article exposed alot of the political posturing on both sides - and particuarly McCain. The last paragraph was demonstrated in Durango Friday. It's all about the razzle-dazzle plays. Why did he pick Palin? Why did he come to Durango? Why does he incessantly talk about Joe the plumber as though he's some sort of Robin Hood? What's actually going to happen if he is elected? Why did people cheer when he said we needed a break from the policies of Bush and cheer again 30 seconds later when he said we need to buckle down, stay the course, and win the war in Iraq? Do we want a President who continues to favor big business and the rich and whose answer to the energy crisis is "Drill, Baby, Drill?" Is the change he means really just replacing a dumb governor from Texas with a dumb governor from Alaska?
