WHY DON'T WE GO TO THE MOVIES ANYMORE?

0. When it comes to movies today anything and everything is possible.
Movies today are more advanced than ever . With all the money and time
people spend making a movie you would think that the movie sales for the year would be higher than they've ever been. Well, if you thought they would, you are not alone, I thought they would too. But, they are not. Movie ticket sales have actually decreased in the past years.

There are man y reasons why people are not going to the movies anymore. The first is that the rate of the movies today. Movies don't have originality like before, there are many lame sequels, but they are not giving entertainment justice.
If people do go to the movies for entertainment they have to make a plan of it. I have to make a plan. I have to get a babysitter, load the kids in the car and take them to the sitter, drive to theater, stand in line buy a ticket, then stand in another line and buy popcorn, and then go pick up kids after movie. It ends up being an ordeal, but I don't mind it, Thank goodness I am young and can do this, making it a nothing, just a simple day to day way of my life for me. So going to the movies sounds much easer than doing for some people. So when people do all this to watch a movie and the movie is not good people don't want to go to the movies. People forget that movies are there to serve as a source of entertainment and get the idea of out of sight , out of mind.
The less people go to the movies the less they see movie trailers for future featured films or advertisement for future films.
Advertising makes every single movie seem like it is something special, when they are really just mediocre. This only hurts the fans, because they expected something more.
Before the movie starts you have to find a descent seat and listen to everyone around you. When the light go out, you have to watch multiple advertisements, which I don't mind because I don't miss the beginning of the movie if I am late.
So in the end, after going through the process of going to the movie, is a process. Is going to a movie worth it? Yes, If it's a blockbuster. But if you have the new digital technology of On- Demand, t-vo, surround sound, etc., you can avoid going through the process (hassles) of going to the movie and experience it in your home. You might have to wait a couple of months, but you can enjoy the entertainment a movie offers without the costs and you don't even have to leave your home.
There are many reasons why we don't go to the movies anymore, this explains the decrease in ticket sales in the past 5 years. I hope that this does not effect the quality of movie making, because the movies profit does not exceed the costs of the movies production. We'll have to wait and see what happens if ticket sales for the movies continues to drop?
